Katie Ferraro (58s):

Hey there. I'm Katie Ferraro, registered dietitian, college nutrition professor and mom of seven specializing in baby-led weaning here on the Baby-Led Weaning Made Easy podcast. I help you strip out all of the noise and nonsense about feeding, leaving you with the confidence and knowledge you need to give your baby a safe start to solid foods using baby-led weaning. Is your baby getting ready to start solid foods before the end of the year? So I'm talking to the moms, the dads, the caregivers of babies who are four, five, and six months of age If. You are just getting ready to help your baby make this transition to Solid Foods.

Katie Ferraro (1m 42s):

I'm hosting a brand new Baby-Led Weaning Bootcamp. This is a three day online training that's gonna run from October 12th to the 14th. So If, you go to blwbootcamp.com, you can get signed up. It's super affordable. It's $5 a day, and the way the Bootcamp works is every day you're gonna get an email that will have links to that day's training video. So we're breaking down the content over three days. I'll be sharing on day one a little bit about what baby led weaning is, the history behind it, the research that supports it and why it's a safer and more developmentally appropriate alternative than conventional spoon feeding. Also, in every day's content provides you with feeding guides that will help you get ready for that part of starting Solid Foods.

Katie Ferraro (2m 28s):

And I'm gonna be hosting a live q and a each day So. You can come and ask any questions about your own particular baby or concerns that you might be have as you're getting ready to start Solid Foods. So on day two we're gonna be covering the true signs of readiness to eat. Okay? One of the biggest problems with baby led weaning is that most families start too early and that's where we see risk for choking go up. That's where we see babies starting to have aversions to food down the road because they started before they were ready. That's where we see increased risk for some medical related conditions. So we're gonna get really clear on exactly when you start baby led weaning in day two and then the third day of the BLW Bootcamp. We're gonna troubleshoot some areas where you might get stuck.

Katie Ferraro (3m 8s):

Okay? There's lots of different roadblocks when it comes to starting solid foods and the first few days of baby led weaning is usually when most families quit and give up. So I wanna go through each of those roadblocks with you so you're aware of what might happen and you have some strategies to help you sidestep them so that you can give your baby a safe start to solid foods. Again, the BABY LED weaning Bootcamp is gonna run from October 12th to the 14th. It's $5 per day. You can sign up at BLW Bootcamp dot com. You'll have lifetime access to all of the materials, the video trainings, the feeding guides. You're welcome to join the live q and as we'll be recording them and posting them If. You wanna come back later and check out what everyone else's questions were?

Katie Ferraro (3m 51s):

But the point of the BABY led weaning Bootcamp is to really give you a Solid foundation. So like it's an intensive training for what's about to happen when your baby gets ready to start Solid Foods, because I want you to be prepared so that your baby can get a safe start to solid foods. They can meet their nutrient milestones. There's no growth faltering. Your baby's learning how to eat iron Foods. You know what to do if your baby has an allergic reaction, and so on and so forth.
